A Fun wedding at Bressingham Hall

A fun wedding at Bressingham Hall & High Barn with Sharon & Rob

“IT WAS IMPORTANT TO US TO FIND A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER WHO’S STYLE SUITED OUR REQUIREMENTS AND IT WAS OBVIOUS FROM NICKI’S WORK THAT SHE WAS THE PERFECT MATCH.NICKI IS SUPER ORGANISED, WARM AND FRIENDLY AND VERY PROFESSIONAL.OUR WEDDING WAS A FEW WEEKS AGO AND WE ARE OVERWHELMED BY THE PHOTOS NICKI HAS CAPTURED OF OUR DAY.SHE GLIDED HER WAY THROUGH OUR GUESTS CAPTURING THE PURE ESSENCE AND ENJOYMENT OF THE DAY. WE HAVE A FEW GROUP PHOTOS AND LOTS OF FABULOUS ONES OF OUR GUESTS WHICH ARE JUST SO NATURAL. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND NICKI. WE LOVE OUR PHOTOS AND CAN’T STOP LOOKING AT THEM!”

Rob and Sharon got married last summer at the gorgeous Bressingham Hall & High Barn, which is a beautiful barn in Bressingham. It was the most beautiful wedding and even the weather played ball!

Getting ready

Rob got ready near their home in Diss with his best man & gang of ushers, and the atmosphere was full of fun & laughter. Rob & his team wore blue suits, with Rob’s jacket having a stunning & colourful inner lining. He then took the short trip to get to the ceremony. Sharon got ready at the beautiful Hall, in the bridal room with her bridesmaids. She travelled to the ceremony on foot – an umbrella was needed but the rain soon passed over. Sharon wore a stunning dress by Sarah Belinda, and her gorgeous flowers were from Ivy Floral. I particularly LOVE flower crowns!

The ceremony

The ceremony was took place at the barn. The High Barn is a light & airy space and was beautifully laid out with white chairs decorated with flowers and hessian hearts. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was a moving and fun ceremony and went smoothly throughout. I loved the look on Rob’s face when the registrar was asking who should be responsible for the wedding certificate!

The reception

The reception was out in the grounds at the venue. The couple chose Bressingham Hall & High Barn because it’s local to them and they just fell in love with the Hall and gardens. I love shooting Bressingham Hall weddings because the grounds are just incredible. There’s so much scope for photos and when the sun sets it’s breathtakingly beautiful.  Happily the sun stayed out all day, and I got lots of  family photos and some gorgeous couple photos, making use of the colourful gardens.

Sharon & Rob had drinks & canapes and a magician to entertain their guests in the afternoon, and then a disco and sparklers in the evening. They also had a personal magic session with Edd Crafer, the magician, before heading into their wedding breakfast – he amazed us all with his magic! They had decorated the marquee with colourful flowers in hessian wrapped jars and country style hessian on the tables, because they love natural/rustic, no fuss simplicity. The theme came together beautifully – a real rustic, country style wedding.

The Evening Celebrations

After some speeches, which had everyone laughing – and included a speech by the bride -(now there’s something that should happen more at weddings!) – the guests walked the short distance to the wonderful Bressingham steam carousel and everyone had a go on the gallopers!  Back to the barn for the first dance, and they finished off the evening with a sparkler exit, before the guests hit the dance floor to dance the night away

The Couple

Rob & Sharon met in their local pub and had been together for a few years before getting married. They got in touch with me two years before their wedding date and said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I loved that they were planning a really fun, rustic style wedding.  The couple say that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to give yourself lots of time to organise everything and don’t let it consume you.

Rob and Sharon’s wedding was everything I love about weddings and had such a fun atmosphere. Here’s some photos from their wonderful wedding!
