I’ve known Terry for many, many years and Jess for the last few years whilst living back in Norfolk, so was really excited when they asked me to photograph their Norfolk country wedding this June!
We managed to squeeze in a quick engagement photo session (below) a few days before the wedding day, picking an evening when the sun hung around, and had a lovely wander around some of Norfolk’s prettiest countryside, close to their home.
The day started for me over at Brome Grange with Jess, where, after a few last minute hitches and a few relaxing glasses of wine (from a wonderful selection basket of everything a bride could need on a wedding day her friend had made up for her), everything fell into place. Jess and the wedding party guests all left the venue on a double decker bus to head to the Church.
I met up with Terry and Joe, his best man, at their local church in Hingham – the vicar (who’d come down from Yorkshire for the day) has to be the funniest, most relaxed vicar I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting – he had the congregation in stitches throughout!
The ceremony went well, there were plenty of tears (I had to borrow a tissue at one point) and the new Mr & Mrs H exited the Church into the bright sunshine, ready for a wonderful confetti walk through the tree lined path out of the Church – rounded off by a couple of confetti canons at the end – always good for a massive amount of pretty confetti!
Back to the wedding reception venue – the guests on the bus and Terry & Jess in a separate car – for a glass of Pimms and some chilling & chatting in the cool courtyard, before everyone headed into the reception room. Jess had put so much effort into the decorations for the reception room – it was twinkling throughout with fairy lights and looked so pretty!
The evening was very relaxed and Jess had a surprise up her sleeve for Terry with a fun game of “Mr and Mrs” where they each had to hold up each other’s shoe for the right answer – lots of laughs and lots of cheers when they both got the right answer! They went straight into the first dance afterwards, and everyone was then up on the dance floor to enjoy the rest of the evening.
It was a fabulous day, full of laughter, fun and tears and I loved being a part of it – thank you so much, Mr & Mrs H for having me along! xx
