I’VE NEVER FELT MORE RELAXED IN MY LIFE 😘”
Max and Megan got married in autumn at the awesome Langley Abbey, which is a beautiful venue in Norfolk. It was such a fun wedding and even the cloud, wind & rain didn’t dampen the day!
Max got ready at home with his best men & ushers and I met him at Langley Abbey before the ceremony. Megan got ready just down the road from Langley Abbey at High Barn Cottages with her bridesmaids and mum – it was a relaxed & happy morning with a little bit of prosecco flowing! She travelled to the ceremony in a be-ribboned BMW, with her dad.
The ceremony was an intimate service in the Abbotts Chamber – a wonderfully picturesque room overlooking the main hall. During the ceremony Megan’s brother & girlfriend sang for the couple & their guests which was so emotional and personal. The ceremony went smoothly, thanks to the registrar, Malcolm, who always puts his heart & soul into his ceremonies!
After the ceremony, everyone gathered upstairs for a few drinks & canapes. We managed to dash outside for some windy friend & family photos before the rain came. Max & Megan chose Langley Abbey because it’s a magical setting and they just fell in love with it. It was an autumnal and Gin themed wedding, with foliage lining the aisle and fairy lights everywhere, which worked so well. I love shooting Gin themed weddings because there are so many fantastic colourful Gin bottles to decorate wedding tables with! Photographing at Langley Abbey was a real pleasure – lots of beautiful rooms to choose from and outside, the old Abbey ruins which make for some dramatic shots.
For their wedding breakfast they had a slap up meal, which was absolutely delicious. Megan’s dad did a fantastic job with his speech, based around Abba & Meatloaf song titles, which had everyone in stitches. The first dance soon involved the wedding party getting on the dancefloor to get the dancing going, and they finished off the evening with lots of Gin and dancing! They had both a DJ and live music in the evening, both set up in the Crypt which was very atmospheric!
Max wore a suit from Chester Barrie at HOF and Megan looked perfect wearing a dress from Camilla Brides. They got in touch with me after I photographed their friends wedding as they liked the way I photographed in the background. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I loved that Max & Megan and their friends were so much fun on the day. I realised after dinner that there were THREE of my previous wedding couples at their wedding – it was so lovely to see them all again and I made them stand together for a photo!
The couple say that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to enjoy it and make sure you both get your own way!
Max and Megan’s wedding was such a laugh and everything I love about weddings. If you’re planning an autumn themed wedding, get in touch! Here’s their Langley Abbey wedding photos….
